BABY NAMING

If, like a growing number of parents, you would like to celebrate the birth of your child, a naming ceremony or simple 'naming day' is becoming increasingly popular.

It is the event at which an infant or a child is given a name or names. It is a celebration that can occur anywhere from days after  a birth to several months of age or years.

This is a joyous occasion where God-parents, Grandparents, family and friends get together to celebrate the new life and the new name. Readings, poems, photos and naming certificates are a wonderful memento of this special day.

FUNERALS

Losing someone you love or care deeply about is very painful; adjusting to life after this loss is never easy. No two people react in the same way. A funeral is a symbolic celebration of a life and this ceremony should reflect the life and spirit of the individual.

To encapsulate all the aspects of one’s life, whatever age, is complex.  A well-prepared funeral ceremony needs to bring together many thoughts and feelings of several people and their particular interaction with the person who has passed away. With the appropriate readings, music and rituals, I can create a ceremony that reflects many thoughts and attributes. Meeting with family and friends, listening to the shared stories of achievements and memories, enables me ‘get to know’ their loved one, to shape and develop purposeful prose to evoke the best emotional and collective responses.

The single most important factor in healing from loss is having the support of other people. Therefore, it is important to ensure that the ceremony is one that gives support, comfort and hope as the grief process unfolds in its many different forms.

RENEWAL OF VOWS

Some people want to show each other how much they still love them, no matter how long they have been together. Sometimes, after a particularly difficult crisis in their lives, some couples choose to renew their Vows. This may be due to a time of separation or an illness and they feel they want to reaffirm their commitment to one another.

These Vows can be tailor–made to include all the family; sons, daughters and grandchildren, who would make a special significance to the ceremony. Similarly, some couples may just want a quiet and informal but romantic ritual, celebrating their love.

These ceremonies can occur at anniversary times or at a time when all family and friends can get together for a celebration. They are evocative, moving and refreshing.
